I want to make a change and need advice
Labels: Random 2 commentsI'd like to have my own .com for each of my blogs, it needs to be cheap, reliable and offer multiple domains with one price. Something without a contract, so that I can easily switch hosts once I can afford to. Switching to wordpress at the same time is something I am considering based on cost and if I can find someone who can set up what I have in mind too.
I also want to set up a web store/online catalog for my Home Parties. I'm not quite prepared to start shipping and dealing with a large amount of customers just yet so to start with I only want to sell locally. I would love to eventually move up to running my own store, but baby steps come first!
How much do you think it would cost me to have all this set up? I have some funds in paypal right now, and I've signed up for a few new affiliate programs but other than that I don't have any regular advertising income coming in from my blogs yet. Should I wait? Or should I hope that once I have a .com that companies would be more willing to set up paid links?
Any suggestions on what my domain should be? I really dislike mmafterhours and want something that is easier to search. I would like to keep the Misfit Momma title, but my other blog will be misfitmomma.com so that's out. Would having this one as misfitmomma.net be too confusing?
Would also love any ideas on a unique name for my Home Party site! My choice was Love Handles or Luv Handles, but I found out both of those are already taken!

Hey. I am not an expert on domains at ALL, but have you checked out Vistaprint.ca? I know their stuff is reasonably-priced, but I have no personal experience with their services, sorry.
For a store, there are some adult shops that do drop-shipping, so you could just create your own catalog and take payments and have them shipped that way? It would save you a lot of work, anyways. Might be something to start off with, anyways.
I think the .com and the .net would be confusing. Maybe one could be MisfitMomma and one would be MisfitMommaBlog or something? Just to differentiate? I really liked Love Handles, it's a shame that was taken :(

I have got business cards in the past from VistaPrint - when I was selling Avon lol!
Drop Shipping would be good, I will have to find out who does that.
Someone else suggested afterhours.misfitmomma.com or misfitmomma.com/afterhours but I'm not sure how that would affect the family friendliness of my other blog or the traffic of this one.
I was sad that Love Handles was taken too! My catch phrase would have been Get a Handle on Your Love Life. It's one of the more ridiculous products I have seen too, an Elliptical that you attach to your stroller.
